DOG/CAT LICENSES
Dear Pet Owner,
State law requires all dog and cat licenses are to be renewed each year. All dogs and cats six (6) months of age or older, kept in the Borough of Helmetta, are required to be licensed.
The cost is $ 8.00 for spayed/neutered and $ 11.00 for non-spayed/non-neutered if paid before January 31st. There will be a late fee per animal for licenses obtained after January 31st. If you are mailing in your application, the postmark must be before January 31st, if not the late charge must be included in your payments. No exceptions! Late fees for licenses obtained during February are $5.00; during March $10.00; and after March $15.00 per animal.
You may renew your license in person - Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, you may mail your renewal in or you may use the drop-box on the door on the left side of the building. Checks or money orders should be made payable to “Borough of Helmetta”. If paying by cash, please try to have exact amount. Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope.
We will need to see a copy of your pet’s rabies vaccination and if spayed/neutered a copy of this also. The records will be returned to you. All animals with rabies vaccinations expiring during January through October of the year must be revaccinated before a new license can be issued, per NJ State Law. Therefore, if your vaccination expires on October 31 of the licensing year, a license can and will not be issued until the animal/s receives a new vaccination. You can obtain your license and I will hold it until you show me your updated proof of vaccination or have your pet vaccinated at our clinic which will be held in March 15, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m...
If you no longer have your pet, please call me at 732-521-4946 ext. 100 so we may update our records. You may call at any time and leave a message.

WHEN RENEWING YOUR LICENSE PLEASE GIVE ME THE NAME OF THE VETERINARIAN AND THE DATE YOUR PET WAS SPAYED/NEUTERED. IF THIS IS THE FIRST TIME YOUR APPLYING FOR THE LICENSE I NEED TO SEE THE ORIGINAL COPY.
